Carolina has been an integral member of the project team for Australian Cricket's Inclusion and Diversity education program A Sport For All. Cricket Australia has been able to utilise Carolina's experience, combined with her creative and analytical thinking skills to design tailored workshops for Staff and Directors at all levels of Australian Cricket. The effective delivery of these workshops is a significant testament to Carolina and her expertise in this area. With consideration to this and Carolina's collaborative and ethical approach, we would recommend her to any client that is committed to fostering an Inclusion and Diversity culture within their organisation. “I was looking forward to attending the workshop so I could learn a few strategies to use when teaching in China…. however the information that Sandra and Carolina shared with us on the day really exceeded everyone’s expectations… it’s the best workshop I’ve been to in years! At the end of the day we all walked away feeling energised and with a deeper appreciation of culture from a personal and organisational perspective”. Business and HRM teacher at CQ TAFE
..”Carolina met with all levels of MHS staff and was able to illicit the required information during her conversations in a non-threatening, inclusive manner. Feedback from the staff following their conversation with Caroline was always positive and had been an insightful experience for them. The analysis of information gathered during conversations and from the electronic survey were delivered in a timely and professional manner to the project steering committee. The final report with its recommendations was relevant and meaningful. As a result of the Cultural Diversity Audit, the MHS Interpreter Services and Cultural Responsiveness project has included the audits recommendations in its funding submission to MHS executive.” Project Manager Interpreter Services and Cultural Responsiveness project Mater Health Services Brisbane
Please pass on my thanks to Sandra and Carolina for their Culture Wise Practice seminar last Tuesday 9 March. It was the most professional course, of its nature, that I have ever attended. I'm sure the material covered will remain relevant to me at work and elsewhere into the future. I look forward to the consolidation session on Tuesday April 20. Manager, Qld Department of Infrastructure &Planning.
Using the tools from the course I have been able to witness my thinking and attitudes which restricted my ability to negotiate and problem solve with culturally diverse colleagues and clients. Town Planner, Qld Department of Infrastructure &Planning.
Prior to the course I thought cultural competency was about learning and understanding cultural differences, however after completing the sessions with Carolina and Sandra I have realised that competency is developed through understanding my own perceptions and attitudes. Since learning this I have increased my awareness and in turn been able to monitor my reactions and responses to cultural diverse situations. Senior policy advisor, Qld Department of Justice & Attorney General.
